CALL FOR PAPERS (Environmental Law): Just released! (3 March 2008) PDF Tisk E-mail

1. On 3 March 2008, new Call for Papers was announced for the issue No. 11 of the Common Law Review. The Call for Papers is planned to be marketed at the law faculties in Prague, Pilsen, Brno, Olomouc, Bratislava, Warsaw and Katowice. The students and recent graduates of law from the region of Central and Eastern Europe are welcommed to submit their articles in English language on a topic from the area of environmental law.

This issue focuses on comparison of environmental law in countries of the Central and Eastern Europe with the common law (whether US, English or any other). The EU law or international law can be also addressed. Please click HERE for English or HERE for Czech version of the Call for Papers where you could find 35 examples of interesting topics in this area of law. However, you are welcommed to choose any other comparistic topic from the area of environmental law.

If you do not have a clear idea about a topic, by clicking HERE, you can consult a short summary of each topic listed in the Call for Papers, together with a suggestion of starting-point literature and case law.

2. Before you start doing research and writing your article, please read our Guidelines for authors (please click HERE for English version or HERE for Czech version of our Guidelines) and FAQ (please click HERE for English version of FAQ). If you want to see the format of your submission, consult an example of our past article HERE.

3. If you do not want to write an article, we can also accept short note (i.e. case report) from two or three authors about an interesting recent environmental law case (whether from Central or Eastern Europe or common law). An example of the comment will be available in this section soon.

4. If your article is accepted by the Editoral Board of the Common Law Review, it will be published, together with up to 13 other student articles, during the winter semester of 2008-2009, both in a hardcopy and on this webpage. The Common Law Review sometimes selects the best article of the given issue and as a reward to the author of such article, it also publishes the Czech (or Slovak) version of his or her article. Next to 13 articles from students, there will be up to 5 articles from professors and practitioners in this area of law.

If you have chosen your topic or you have your own idea from the area of environmental law, please send an email to Petr Zákoucký or Margarita Kukharchuk at Tato adresa je chráněna proti spamování, pro její zobrazení potřebujete mít Java scripty povoleny by 15 March 2008 if possible (i.e. you could send it to us even later, but we will consider whether to accept it, given the number of the authors which we will have at the moment and the deadline). You will be assigned one out of our 12 staff editors. Deadline for submission of your draft article is 10 April, deadline for your final article is 1 May 2008.
